Summary The Mammography Technologistperforms diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures inhospital, clinic or mobile van sites, according to establishedprotocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis andtreatment. The Mammography Technologist operates digitalmammography equipment and performs procedures by positioningpatients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting the correctexposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathologyand diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital and or analogimages to assist the radiologist in diagnosis. This will includex-ray and mammography with the opportunity to train in DEXA,stereotactic/needle localization procedures and Contrast EnhancedMammography. Qualifications Requirements Graduate of an approvedRadiography program. CT State Radiographer’s License required. ARRT(R) required – ARRT (M) preferred Current xray and mammographyexperience highly preferred. Acute care experience and experiencewith invasive procedures is very highly preferred.
