Apply Today Job Summary:
Takes x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnosticpurposes and provides support for the imaging department. Thisposition performs plain films, fluoro, portables, and OR examsand/or plain films and Bone Density (BD registry required).
JobResponsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESExplains procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Providesappropriate educational material. Transports patients to and fromclinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policiesand procedures. Prepares patient for radiology exam by positioningthe patient for the procedure. Follows radiation safety proceduresand guidelines. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessaryradiation. Prepares and administers contrast media and medicationswithin the accepted scope of practice and applicable state andfederal regulations. Observes patient during procedure and reportsabnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates orrefinements as warranted. Ensures prompt submission of high-qualityof all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correctlead markers and patient data/history). Ensures equipment isproperly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipmentmalfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment ifappropriate. Maintains a clean, and orderly department to includeprocedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areasin department. May perform limited CT procedures in emergentsituations when CT Technologist is not on site. Works in a constantstate of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties asassigned.

Associate’s degree or completion of a radiologycertification program

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
Constant standing and walking. Frequent use of visionand depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far(20 feet or more). Frequent use of hearing and speech to shareinformation through oral communication. Frequent use of hearing todistinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioningmachinery, etc. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pullingobjects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry. Occasionallifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitivefoot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting.
