Tallo's Job Summary: DX TECH performs patient examinations according to established protocols, reviews images, maintains patient records, and ensures proper patient identification. They stock exam rooms, start IVs, and administer contrast as needed. Qualifications include graduation from an approved radiologic technology school and one year of diagnostic radiology experience. Certification as MSRT and BLS are required. The position reports to the Radiology Supervisor.
Job Description
Job Summary:
Performs patient examinations and related activities; performs patient exams in accordance with established protocols, demonstrates knowledge of digital environment; reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocol of checking at least two patient identifiers prior to completing examination, and patient’s clinical history is complete; completes associated paperwork, performs QA/QC on equipment, as needed. Stocks exam rooms with basic supplies, starts IV’s and/or administer contrast, as needed, maintains and adheres to accepted sterile techniques and provides clean environment within examination area. Provide student technologists with the basic procedural concepts within responsible modality. Share emergency call, as required. Demonstrates appropriate computer skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates knowledge and skill to appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors, and vendors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Knowledgeable of Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practice. Reports to the assigned Radiology Supervisor.

Demonstrates ability to position and select appropriate imaging techniques to acquire diagnostic information Demonstrates ability to accurately document in EMR all required information for patient record Demonstrates safe Radiation Safety practice when utilizing ionizing radiation Demonstrates the ability to work as a team especially in stressful situations such as in the ED environment Demonstrates the ability to produce high quality images for interpretation
Qualifications:
Education/Skills Graduate of an approved AMA school of radiologic technology required.
Work Experience:
One year experience in diagnostic radiology preferred. Certification/Licensure-DUE

Additional Certification/Licensure – Obtained based on required timeframe below Basic Life Support (Within 30 Days of Employment Required) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Within 180 Days of Employment Required)
