JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant/X-Ray Tech or Radiology Tech willbe responsible for greeting patients, activating patient files andproviding support to patients and medical staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilitiesgenerally reflect the expectations of this position but are notintended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

• Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area, exam room,and laboratory or x-ray room
• Consistently communicates withpatients on wait times; provides direction to the next step in thetreatment process
• Provides solutions to patient problems andrecognizes and seeks help in emergent / hazardous situations
• Provides timely follow up regarding lab and x-ray results
• Executes follow-up calls with sense of urgency
• Assists frontdesk personnel with patient check in/out procedures whennecessary
• Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signsand weight, takes brief history, past medical, family and socialhistory current medications, allergies and other pertinenthistorical information as appropriate
• Assists with patienttransfers
• Assists with procedures directly supervised by theprovider
• Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of theprovider
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures andfollows established clinical and regulatory procedures in regardsto patient safety and care; including proper radiation protectionand shielding techniques
• Ensures that equipment is in properworking order and reports any malfunctions to the RegionalOperation Manager or provider on duty
• Follows documentationprocedures and completes required documentation related to patientvisit
• Maintains examination room and stocks if necessary
• Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and patientconfidentiality policies
• Perform phlebotomy, injections,medical procedures and laboratory procedures appropriate for levelof training under the direction of a provider.

WHAT’S REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• -Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
• MedicalAssistant Certificate or equivalent experience
• Valid StateLicense to perform X-Rays
• BLS Certification required
