JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant/X-Ray Tech or Radiology Tech will beresponsible for greeting patients, activating patient files andproviding support to patients and medical staff.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect theexpectations of this position but are not intended to be allinclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promptly greetspatients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory orx-ray room.
- Consistently communicates with patients on wait times; providesdirection to the next step in the treatment process
- Provides solutions to patient problems and recognizes and seekshelp in emergent / hazardous situations.
- Provides timely follow up regarding lab and x-ray results.
- Executes follow-up calls with sense of urgency.
- Assists front desk personnel with patient check in/outprocedures when necessary.
- Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs andweight, takes brief history, past medical, family and socialhistory current medications, allergies and other pertinenthistorical information as appropriate.
- Assists with patient transfers.
- Assists with procedures directly supervised by theprovider.
- Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of theprovider.
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and followsestablished clinical and regulatory procedures in regards topatient safety and care; including proper radiation protection andshielding techniques.
- Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reportsany malfunctions to the Regional Operation Manager or provider onduty.
- Follows documentation procedures and completes requireddocumentation related to patient visit.
- Maintains examination room and stocks if necessary.
- Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and patientconfidentiality policies.
- Perform phlebotomy, injections, medical procedures andlaboratory procedures appropriate for level of training under thedirection of a provider.
WHAT’S REQUIRED?
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience
- Valid State License to perform X-Rays
- BLS Certification required
