Essential Job Duties:

Help prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escorts patients to imaging rooms, provides verbal and written instructions and assists patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan. Help and assists with the operation of radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Handle patient records and communicate with patients and healthcare providers. Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Ensures radiologic equipment remains in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to Lead RT. Performs and helps with related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs. Retrieves radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school for x-ray technicians with a current licensure in Mississippi Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred

Other Requirements:

Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours a day; includes walking, stooping and bending Must be able to move equipment and transfer patients Education Preferred High School or better
