JOB SUMMARY
The Radiology Technologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for performing high-quality and cost-efficient diagnostic procedures for patients and the department. They ensure timely radiology services, maintain equipment, and assist physicians and medical staff during procedures.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs high quality/cost efficient diagnostic procedures for patient and department.
Provide radiology services in a timely manner while performing high quality and cost-efficient diagnostic procedures.
Organize workflow to prevent delays.
Assists Physicians and other medical staff during procedures as requested/required.
Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner.
Communicate effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, other medical staff and NMMC staff members.
Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs.
Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations.
Stay abreast of changes in Radiology.
Serves patient population categories of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Adheres to
NMHS/NMMC
Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Associate’s Degree Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.. Required
Licenses and Certifications
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Licensed Radiologic Technologist
CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
Work Experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Possess strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy.
Keep abreast of changes in Radiology by attending classes and continuing education provided.
Good written and verbal communication; required
Assist in supervising student technologist to ensure proper guidance during exams as part of their training.
Assist fellow technologist as needed to provide high quality patient care.
Have strong team member capabilities.
Be able to adapt to emergency situations.
Make decisions with win/win solutions in mind.
Perform with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times.
Detailed oriented
Must have extensive contact with: Physicians, co-workers, patients/family members
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Reflect a caring attitude for patients, employees and the public served.
Perform with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times.
Explain the procedures to be performed to the patient and try to alleviate any anxiety of the patient.
Ability to work well under pressure while providing a high level of care
