Work Schedule:

PRN, with a minimum of four shifts per month, 1stshift only, floating between all three locations Duke UniversityHealth System seeks to hire an experienced CT Technologist who willembrace our mission of Advancing Health Together. The AmbularotyImaging position serves our three free standing Ambulatory Imagingcenters where we provide abdominal imaging, breast imaging, cardiacimaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and thoracic imaging. We have oneCT scanner and room at each location. This position will float inbetween all three locations to serve our Ambulatory Surgical andPrimary Care patients.

What you will do:
  • Perform complexspecialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners,power injectors, and related equipment in accordance withprescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Position patients for CTscans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment asnecessary.
  • Perform exams accurately per established protocols,policy, and patient safety standards.
  • Assist radiologist withimaging procedures, starting IV’s, and injecting contrast, ifapplicable.
  • Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed imagesin sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film/transmit toImage Archival System.
  • Schedule patients for procedures; assistwith clerical functions.
  • Charge procedures and supplies in EHR.
  • Dispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Provide orientation andtraining to new CT technologists.
  • Provide care for thepsychological and physical needs of patients and their families forCT scans.
  • Provide education and training to studenttechnologists.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to thework therein.
  • Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
  • Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrastadministration.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy inperformance of all exam protocols.
  • Assist with the education andtraining of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, andattending’s). If applicable.
  • Assist radiologists and PhD’s indeveloping new protocols and CT imaging techniques that are uniqueto facility.
  • Perform CT specific technical assistance withprojects assigned by supervisor including but not limited to: Teamlead, R & D, protocol development, charge reconciliation anddemonstration of equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Education:

Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibilityrequirements for registry/certification or currently holds requiredregistry or certification.

Experience:

A minimum of two years’experience as a CT Technologist Degrees, Licensure, and/orCertification Certification in one of the following required:

Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology(N), CNMT. ARRT registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required BLScertification.
