CT Technologist Location:

Work Schedule:
PRN, as needed with aminimum of four shifts per month Duke University Health Systemseeks to hire an experienced or new graduate CT Technologist whowill embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together. The DukeRegional Hospital (DRH) has 388 inpatient beds and offers acomprehensive range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services.
In this role there are 3 scanners and 3 rooms that primarily workto serve our outpatients, ED, and inpatients.
What you will do:
Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation ofCT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordancewith prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients forCT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipmentas necessary. Perform exams accurately per established protocols,policy, and patient safety standards. Assist radiologist withinterventional CT procedures. Evaluate CT scans for technicalquality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure andappropriately label. Film/transmit to Image Archival System.
Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions.
Dispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
Maintain accurate patient records. Provide orientation and trainingto new CT technologists. Provide care for the psychological andphysical needs of patients and their families for CT scans. Provideeducation and training to student technologists. Perform otherrelated duties incidental to the work therein. Coordinatescheduling and patient flow Demonstrate proficiency in IV placementfor contrast administration. Demonstrate proficiency and accuracyin performance of all exam protocols. Perform CT specific technicalassistance with projects assigned by supervisor including but notlimited to: Team lead, R & D, protocol development, chargereconciliation and demonstration of equipment. DUHS offers careergrowth and enrichment within imaging services. There is a clinicalladder program with various steps and opportunities at eachhospital within the health system.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibilityrequirements for registry/certification or currently holds requiredregistry or certification.
Experience:
Level I Must obtain CTcertification within 18 months of employment. Level II Minimum oftwo years’ experience as a CT technologist. Level III A minimum of4 years’ experience within specialty modality in which they areseeking promotion Degrees, Licensure, and/or CertificationCertification in one of the following required: Radiography (R),Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), CNMT. ARRT registered in ComputedTomography (CT) required within 18 months of employment. BLScertification.
