Commitment Bonus Work Week:

Monday – Friday 7am-7pm, 3 daysa week. Responsible for call. General Description of the Job ClassPerform a variety of complex specialized tasks eminent in operatingradiographic equipment to perform vascular and neuroradiologyangiographic and interventional procedures. Duties andResponsibilities of this Level Perform complex specialized tasksassociated with the operation of radiographic equipment to makespecial study radiographs of designated body portions in accordancewith radiation safety procedures. Position patients; immobilize asnecessary. Assist radiologist during angiographic andinterventional procedures. Operate fluoroscopic equipment. Positionpatients for rapid sequence filming during contrast mediaadministration. Set up sterile trays and other equipment practicingsterile technique. Assist radiologist during procedure to includehandling of instruments, operating and monitoring equipment,calling out equipment readings; alerting physician to changes inpatient condition. Scrub to assist with passage ofcatheters/guidewires. Load power injectors with contrast media;prepare for injection. Maintain studies within the Image archivalsystem. Schedule patient procedures from referring physician’soffices. Charge patients for procedures and supplies in EHR. Assistin orientation of new technologists; provide education and trainingto student technologists. Maintain patient records and statisticaldata. Coordinate scheduling and patient flow within theneuro/vascular radiographic suites; coordinate procedureperformance across different hospital divisions (anesthesia,pediatrics, radiology). Perform other related duties incidental tothe work therein (patient transport, etc.) Maintain supplyinventory; order supplies. Assist with training of new physicians(attendings, interns, residents, and fellows). Assist radiologistswith development of new protocols and imaging techniques that areunique to facility. Participate in research initiatives anddevelopment of research protocols. Demonstrate proficiency in theperformance of neuro and vascular angiographic and interventionalprocedures. Orient new technologists to these procedures. Monitorcharging of procedures and supplies for division to ensurecorrectness. Monitor assigned inventory expiration dates. Maintaina par inventory of catheters, balloons, stents, guidewires, andmiscellaneous kits under discretion of manager. Monitor inventorylevels and par-levels. Perform other related duties incidental tothe work therein. DUHS offers career growth and enrichment withinImaging services. Required Qualifications at this LevelEducation Graduate orcompletion of program that meets eligibility requirements forregistry/certification or currently holds required registry orcertification. Experience Level I must obtain ARRT certificationwithin 18 months of employment. Level II Minimum of two years’experience as an Interventional technologist. Level III A minimumof four years’ experience within specialty modality in which theyare seeking promotion.
