MRI Technologist-Duke Regional Hospital •FOR HIREFreeParking provided This Position is Eligible for Relocation and$15,000 Commitment Bonus General Description of the Job ClassPerform a variety of complex, specialized, and technical tasksassociated with the operation of high field strength magnets.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level Screen patients for MRsafety prior to procedure performance. Assist radiologist withprocedure protocoling and performance. Start I.V.s, administercontrast media as directed and per protocol. Evaluate MR scans fortechnical quality, collate processed images and sequence ofacquisition and label appropriately. Schedule patients forprocedures; assist with clerical functions. Charge MR proceduresand supplies in EHR Load and operate power injectors for contrastmedia administration. Maintain accurate patient records. Provideorientation for new technologists Provide education and trainingfor student technologists. Provide for the psychological andphysical needs of patients for MR procedures. Understand and usethe Image Archival System Perform complex tasks associated with theoperation of high field strength magnets and related equipment toproduce special radiographic images of specific body parts.

Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protectiveequipment as required. Screen patients for MR safety prior toprocedure performance. Assist radiologist with procedureperformance. Administer contrast media or as directed and perprotocol. Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collateprocessed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.

Coordinate scheduling and patient flow involving multiple MR sites.

Assist with education and training of new physicians (interns,residents, and fellows, attending’s) if Applicable. Assistradiologists and physicists in developing new protocols and MRimaging techniques that are unique to DUHS Help facilitate researchfor the Duke Health System by scanning and using protocols given.

Demonstrate proficiency in the 100 MR protocols in the HealthSystem. Teach the correct application of these protocols to newtechnologists, physicians, and researchers. Perform other relatedduties incidental to the work herein DUHS offers career growth andenrichment within Imaging services. There is a clinical ladderprogram with various steps and opportunities at each hospitalwithin the health system. Required Qualifications at this LevelEducation Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibilityrequirements for registry/certification or currently holds requiredregistry or certification. Experience Level I must obtain ARRT orARMRIT in Magnetic Resonance (MR) certification within 18 months ofemployment. Level II Minimum of two years’ experience as an MRItechnologist. Level III A minimum of 4 years’ experience withinspecialty modality in which they are seeking promotion. Degrees,Licensure, and/or Certification Certification in one of thefollowing required: Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), NuclearMedicine Technology (N), CNMT, ARDMS, or registry eligible forMagnetic Resonance (MR).
