Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Radiology Manager performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans. Perform radiological and CT duties in compliance with Radiology Department and legal requirements. This is an On Call position with the option to cover Monday shift from 9am to 6pm
- Performs CT imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions
- Ensures operation of radiology and computerized tomography equipment
- Maintains radiology and CT supply inventory
- Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
- Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
- Prepares patient for radiological/CT procedures
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Maintains production and quality of radiographic and/or CT images
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible to obtain within 1 year of hire and licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Radiologic Technologists.
- Current BLS certification required.
