Your Mission:

An operating room (OR) radiologytechnologist is a specialized radiologic technologist who workswithin the surgical environment, providing real-time imagingsupport to surgeons during procedures . This is crucial for guidingsurgical techniques and confirming the accurate placement ofinstruments and devices. What You’ll Do:
OperatingImaging Equipment:

OR radiology technologists primarily operateC-arm machines and other portable X-ray equipment in the operatingroom.

Real-time Imaging:

They use fluoroscopy, a type of real-timeX-ray imaging, to help surgeons visualize internal structuresduring procedures. This is particularly important for procedureslike spinal fusions, orthopedic reconstructions, and fracturerepairs.

Patient Positioning:

They carefully position patients andthe C-arm to obtain optimal images from various angles, ensuringsurgeon guidance throughout the procedure.

Radiation Safety:

Theyare responsible for ensuring the safety of patients and staff byfollowing strict radiation safety protocols and minimizingexposure, which includes using lead aprons and ensuring everyone inthe room is properly shielded. Collaboration with

Surgical Team:

ORtechnologists work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other membersof the surgical team, communicating and coordinating their work toensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.

MaintainingEquipment:

They perform routine checks and maintain imagingequipment, ensuring proper working condition and promptly reportingany issues.

Understanding Surgical Procedures and Protocols:

Theyneed to be knowledgeable about different surgical procedures andthe specific imaging needs of each surgeon, adapting theirtechniques and positioning accordingly.

What We’re Looking For:
Education:

High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of anaccredited Radiology program or a certified/ accredited/JCERThospital based program and credentialed by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT). Required.

Experience:

Two yearsexperience in diagnostic radiology, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Qualifications:
Education:

High School Diploma or GED,required. Graduate of an accredited Radiology program or acertified/ accredited/JCERT hospital based program and credentialedby the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Required.

Experience:

Two years experience in diagnostic radiology,preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

AdditionalSkills Required:

Thorough knowledge of radiographic equipment andaccessories. Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Hasknowledge and skills necessary to modify care according topatient(s) age. Has the ability to interpret information toidentify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/herage specific needs. Good communication skills, capable offunctioning alone in diagnostic rooms, working knowledge of varioustypes of x-ray equipment, able to adapt to various situations andprocedures.
