Overview:

The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonanceimaging (MRI) scans that use a magnetic field and radio waves totake pictures of patient’s body’s interior. These MRI scans areused to investigate or diagnose conditions that affect soft tissuesuch as tumors or brain disorders. This role is responsible foraccurate image acquisition and collaborates with the medical teamto provide comprehensive diagnostic information for patient care.

Responsibilities:

Performs complex tasks associated with theoperation of high field strength magnets and related equipment toproduce special radiographic images of specific body parts. Reviewsand assesses patient medical histories to determine appropriateimaging parameters for accurate results. Operates and maintainsadvanced MRI equipment, adhering to safety protocols and conductingregular maintenance checks to ensure precise and reliable imagingresults. Collaborates with medical professionals during MRIprocedures, providing real-time imaging support to ensure accuratepositioning and optimal imaging quality. Records and documents allMRI scans and associated information in Computerized HealthInformation (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS), verifying charges and addressing discrepancies for smoothworkflow. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate ofa Radiology, Imaging or related educational program

EXPERIENCE

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING

Required:

ARRT (MR), MRITechnologist ARMRIT(MR), ARMRIT(MR)ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT(MR)acceptable; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross, or AHA HealthcareProvider
