Overview:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist WeekendOption performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans that use amagnetic field and radio waves to take pictures of patient’s body’sinterior. These MRI scans are used to investigate or diagnoseconditions that affect soft tissue such as tumors or braindisorders. This role is responsible for accurate image acquisitionand collaborates with the medical team to provide comprehensivediagnostic information for patient care. This role has a weekendoption, in which the staff member is required to commit to WEOrequirements and work two shifts within the WEO window for apremium rate.
Responsibilities:
Performs complex tasks associatedwith the operation of high field strength magnets and relatedequipment to produce special radiographic images of specific bodyparts. Reviews and assesses patient medical histories to determineappropriate imaging parameters for accurate results. Operates andmaintains advanced MRI equipment, adhering to safety protocols andconducting regular maintenance checks to ensure precise andreliable imaging results. Collaborates with medical professionalsduring MRI procedures, providing real-time imaging support toensure accurate positioning and optimal imaging quality. Recordsand documents all MRI scans and associated information inComputerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving andCommunication System (PACS), verifying charges and addressingdiscrepancies for smooth workflow. Performs other duties asassigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Required:
High School Diplomaor equivalent Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or relatededucational program.
EXPERIENCE
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING
Required:
ARRT (MR), MRITechnologist ARMRIT(MR), ARMRIT(MR) BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross,or AHA Healthcare Provider ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT(MR) acceptable
