1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in InterventionalRadiology preferred

License:

ARRT (R) required

Certifications:

BLS(AHA or ARC) required

Must-Have:

Experience with strokes andtraumas

  • Ability to take call and live within a 30-minute responsetime
Job Description:

Assist in various invasive angio andinterventional procedures performed in the Interventional RadiologySuite

  • Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for totalpatient care during and after the procedure
  • Monitor patients inthe Interventional Radiology area
  • Perform specialized radiographyand fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographicprocedures under the direction of a physician
  • Explain proceduresto patients and prepare them accordingly
  • Obtain medications,radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials for administration by alicensed practitioner or technologist
  • Circulate during procedureswhile maintaining responsibility for patient comfort
  • Providenecessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasiveprocedures
  • Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure orclamps as appropriate
  • Provide necessary report information to theholding area or nursing unit as needed
  • Record and processhemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptlyand accurately
  • Enter patient data and inventory into thedesignated program and send films for review
  • Communicate equipmentmalfunctions to leadership or department engineer forrepairs
Physical Requirements:

Requires standing and walking whilewearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons

  • Exposureto radiation, secretions, and blood
  • Confined working area
  • Normalvision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordinationnecessary to operate equipment
