Experience with strokes andtraumas
- Ability to take call and live within a 30-minute responsetime
Job Description:
Assist in various invasive angio andinterventional procedures performed in the Interventional RadiologySuite
- Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for totalpatient care during and after the procedure
- Monitor patients inthe Interventional Radiology area
- Perform specialized radiographyand fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographicprocedures under the direction of a physician
- Explain proceduresto patients and prepare them accordingly
- Obtain medications,radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials for administration by alicensed practitioner or technologist
- Circulate during procedureswhile maintaining responsibility for patient comfort
- Providenecessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasiveprocedures
- Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure orclamps as appropriate
- Provide necessary report information to theholding area or nursing unit as needed
- Record and processhemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptlyand accurately
- Enter patient data and inventory into thedesignated program and send films for review
- Communicate equipmentmalfunctions to leadership or department engineer forrepairs
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking whilewearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons
- Exposureto radiation, secretions, and blood
- Confined working area
- Normalvision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordinationnecessary to operate equipment
