POSITION SUMMARY
To provide high quality imaging CT procedures toour patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient mannerwhile providing those services in a safe and clean environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education /
Training:
Graduate of anapproved School of Radiologic Technology and subsequentAccreditation through The American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements. Must beregistered in the subspecialty of CT or be registry eligible andpass CT registry within 6 months of hire date. BLS is requiredwithin 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:
Preference of oneyear work experience in hospital environment working in CT aftergraduation and accreditation; however, we are willing to train.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Possesses knowledge of CT scanningand preferably have experience working with GE CT equipment. Willtrain on specific equipment and processes utilized at WilliamsonHealth.
Physical Environment:
Radiation safety and universalprecautions practiced in a multi modality imaging department.
Physical Effort:
Possesses the ability to perform multifunctionaltasks to include: physically manipulate and operate. Equipment;assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchersto table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly,both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisionsin urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotionalstability and psychological health in day to day interaction withfellow workers, patients, their families, and physicians. Must bewilling to take call for STAT, Urgent, or Routine studies afterhours and on weekends when needed.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Checkspatient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy ofrequest before proceeding with study. Questions female patients(ages 12-50) regarding the possibility of pregnancy and properlydocuments information in record. Questions all patients who receiveintravenous contrast media and documents information regardingallergies and medical history. Provides proper radiation safetyprotection for all persons, to include self. . Follows
ALARA, IMAGEGENTLY AND IMAGE WISLEY.
Communicates potential or existingproblems/opportunities to improve quality of care or services.
Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring thepatient is properly covered at all times; during exam and patienttransport. Checks often on patients waiting in hallways to ensurethat the patient is covered and comfortable (Pain Management).Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makesappropriate decisions. Volunteers for overtime and fill-in whenneeded. Ensures the safety of patients by following all safetyprocedures while moving patients from wheelchair or stretcher totable and watching patient while on table. Performs high qualitystudies consistently. Works well with fellow employees to providethe most efficient use of the equipment and ensures that allrequests from physicians and patients are completed.
