Description:

Conductprocedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipmentto acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Verify patientidentification and obtain patient history. Assist patients andfamily members requiring extra attention and ensure patientunderstanding whenever possible. Ensure patient safety and verifypatient identification, asking and documenting pregnancy status forpatients of childbearing age. Obtain images per protocols andmanipulate images according to protocols. Perform multi-planar and3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrate thorough knowledge ofCT algorithms and select appropriate window and level settingsaccording to anatomy. Administer oral contrast to adult andpediatric patients according to protocols. Establish intravenouslines and administer IV contrast following safe and properinjection procedures. Follow correct procedures to determinecontrast eligibility and check appropriate lab values beforecontrast injection per protocol. Maintain a thorough understandingof PACS and transmit images. Verify and segment images at the QCstation. Access service tools to verify image transmission andcomplete, modify, and/or cancel orders in an appropriate and timelymanner. Ensure all charge information is accurate. Verify patientidentification in accordance with policy and ensure all appropriatedemographic information is accurate on the images. Perform tasks ina timely manner and create a consistent workflow. Volunteer to workon challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research.

Produce quality diagnostic images and review patient’s charts andreports for correlation. Maintain a clean and orderly workenvironment. Create and keep documentation of incidents asimprovement opportunities for employees and the department. Preceptnew employees and students.
