- Sunday, 6:00 to 6:30 AM/PMThis position isconsidered to be the Weekend Option and will receive the WEOpremium incentive pay for the weekend hours workedThis position iseligible for a $15,000 commitment bonus Duke University HealthSystem seeks to hire an experienced Computerized Tomography (CT)Technologist who will embrace our mission of Advancing HealthTogether.
The Duke Raleigh Hospital (DRAH) campus provides apatient-friendly setting no matter where you visit us in ourhospital’s North Pavilion, South Pavilion, or clinics. Duke Raleighalso maintains laboratory and imaging services, a pain clinic, 24/7emergency care, community outreach, and education programs. Thisposition will primarly serve our inpatient populations with a focusin the Emergency Department with a small mixture of outpatients.
What you will do:
- Perform complex specialized tasks associatedwith the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and relatedequipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safetyprocedures.
- Position patients for CT scans using patientpositioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
- Perform exams accurately per established protocols, policy, andpatient safety standards.
- Assist radiologist with imagingprocedures, starting IV’s, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
- Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
- Evaluate CTscans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequenceof exposure and appropriately label. Film/transmit to ImageArchival System.
- Schedule patients for procedures; assist withclerical functions.
- Charge procedures and supplies in EHR.
- Dispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Provide orientation andtraining to new CT technologists.
- Provide care for thepsychological and physical needs of patients and their families forCT scans.
- Provide education and training to studenttechnologists.
- Perform other related duties incidental to thework therein.
- Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrastadministration.
- Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy inperformance of all exam protocols.
- Assist with the education andtraining of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, andattending’s). If applicable.
- Assist radiologists and PhD’s indeveloping new protocols and CT imaging techniques that are uniqueto facility.
- Perform CT specific technical assistance withprojects assigned by supervisor including but not limited to: Teamlead, R & D, protocol development, charge reconciliation anddemonstration of equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibilityrequirements for registry/certification or currently holds requiredregistry or certification.
Experience:
Level I Must obtain CTcertification within 18 months of employment. Level II Minimum oftwo years’ experience as a CT technologist. Level III A minimum of4 years’ experience within specialty modality in which they areseeking promotion Degrees, Licensure, and/or CertificationCertification in one the following required: Radiography (R),Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), CNMT. ARRTregistered in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 18 months ofemployment.
