Required Qualifications:

Successfulcompletion of a Radiology program of study with specialization andtraining in MRI One years’ experience as an MRI Tech ValidRadiology/MRI license in compliance with state regulations CurrentBLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

Current ARRTor equivalent certification Current ARMRIT or equivalentcertification Other certifications and licenses may be required forthis position

Summary:

The MRI Technologist operates magneticresonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce high-quality 3D imagesused in medical diagnosis. They interact directly with patients andadminister intravenous injections of contrast dye as needed andcollaborate with healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnosticresults. MRI Technologists are responsible for maintainingequipment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuringpatient-centered care throughout the imaging process.

EssentialWork Functions:

Screen patients for MRI safety andcontraindications prior to procedure, ensuring compliance withsafety protocols Educate patients on MRI procedure and answersquestions if they arise Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot MRIequipment to ensure proper functionality and report anymalfunctions Starts I.V.s, administers contrast media per ordersand protocol, monitoring patients for adverse reactions Monitorimage quality during procedures and make adjustments to scanningparameters for optimal diagnostic results Document all proceduredetails, including imaging parameters and patient observations, incompliance with hospital policies Collaborate with radiologists andhealthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging andtimely delivery of results Maintain a clean, organized workspace incompliance with infection control and hospital policies Followshospital safety rules and procedures including infection controland radiation safety protocols Performs other duties as assignedwithin the scope of an

MRI Technologist Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate inthe English language is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
  • To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
  • Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

  • Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure.
