Overview
Role for college student in 2nd year of Radiography Associate Degree program to work on a PRN basis (around class and clinical schedule).
JOB SUMMARY
Provides optimal patient care, appropriate to the span of ages served, while efficiently operating radiographic equipment for the purpose of producing quality, interpretative radiographs or images for the provision of diagnostic information. The trainee performs while under the supervision and/or direction of Staff Radiologic Technologists and technical supervisors and in accordance with the Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Currently in the second year of the Associate Degree for Radiologic Science Program. Must have one year of coursework/trainingpleted LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or
REGISTRATION
BLS Provider Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ads to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizingmunication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Performs diagnostic procedures and operates radiographic equipment effectively and efficiently while under the supervision and/or direction of staff technologists and supervisors. Ads to radiation exposure regulations and practices to ensure adequate radiation protection. Ensures accurate patient records via correct data entry, validation and archival of images. Provides age-developmentally appropriate care in accordance with Age-Developmental Specific Guidelines for the age groups served when participating in patient care.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Able tomunicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing procedures and patient care. Clinical skills to enable recognition and to function accordingly in relation to prioritizing of patient needs. Adaptable to changing work schedules
