Job:
The practice of magnetic resonance is performedby a segment of health care professionals responsible for the useof radiofrequencies (RFs) within a magnetic field on humans fordiagnostic or therapeutic purposes. A magnetic resonancetechnologist performs magnetic resonance procedures and relatedtechniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or by therequest of, a licensed independent practitioner. It is the magneticresonance technologist who performs the magnetic resonanceexamination that creates the images needed for diagnosis.
WhatYou’ll Do:
Performs magnetic resonance procedures based on the AmericanCollege of Radiology (ACR) “Practice Parameters and TechnicalStandards” and the ARRT “Standards of Ethics” Understands and adheres to the preparation, positioning, coilselection and exam sequences according to the Department Protocolbook Actively participates in quality control and quality assuranceactivities using the “APIE” model Maintains knowledge of all MRI equipment, computers, EPIC andPACS. Prepares and/or administers contract media in accordance withthe Radiology Contrast Policy Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures,administers first aid/CPR, as needed and in accordance withspecific MRI Safety guidelines Records patient symptom history on requisition
Who You Are:
Clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging Modality, Required OR Completion of an approved MRI education program withregistry eligible, Required Certification by the ARRT in Radiology, Radiation Therapy orNuclear Medicine and/or have appropriate state licensure,Required Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy licensure,Required•MRI Registry with ARRT required within thirty-six (36) monthsof employment required.•Ability to obtain BLS during employment
