Job Summary
Under the direction of the Radiologist, CT & MRI Manager, and supervision of the Lead MRI Technologist, participates in the daily operation of the MRI Department with a focus on MRI Safety, MRI education, MRI scanpetencies and training to prepare for the MRI Registry exam. Ultimately, the Trainee will be able to perform MRI procedures in accordance with department protocols at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. The MRI Technologist Trainee will, over time, be able to perform a variety of technical procedures including but not limited to extremity imaging, MR Angiography, Body imaging and Biopsies. These procedures require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to theoretical MRI knowledge into practice for providing the best possible imaging for the diagnosis. Additionally, the MRI Technologist Trainee will receive training for the administration of IV and oral contrast. The MRI Technologist Trainee must be willing and able to contribute to the coverage of the MRI department beyond normally scheduled hours. Responsible to maintain equipment and supplies, must maintain a clean andanized work area. Responsible for maintaining ARRT certification, BLS certification and NH Imaging License.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
Utilizes the ASRT education module MR Basics to satisfy the ARRT 16-credit Structured Education Requirement for MRI Registry eligibility.
Completes all Educational Credits necessary for MRI Registry.
Completes all Scan Competencies necessary for MRI Registry.
Acquires scans according to radiologist and department protocol.
Informs patients of exam and provides instruction to assure patient cooperation.
Assists radiologist during Interventional Procedures.
Coordinates daily workload by scheduling inpatients and prioritizing emergency department patients with consideration of the outpatient schedule.
Complete MRI Screening Form per department protocol.
Screens persons to ensure t are no contraindicated devices, implants, or other ferromagnetic materials on or implanted in anyone entering the scan room.
Uses proper ear protection for anyone inside of the scan room while scanning.
Completes documentation in Epic EMR.
Reviews exams in PACS forpleteness prior to submitting to the radiologist.
Responsible for the safety of all patients.
Flexible to assist with the coverage of the department beyond normal scheduled hours.
Arrives on time for all assigned shifts. Including holidays and weekends.
Arrives ready to work and works until end of shift.
Completes mandatory learning,petencies and CEU’s as required.
Follows dress code policy.
Maintains HIPAApliance.
Cleaning, stocking of supplies, and laundry to maintain a professional workspace.
Other duties as consistent with this role.

Education and Experience

MRI experience preferred
An equivalentbination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
