Maryview Medical Center Job Summary:
The MRI Tech is responsible for daily modality operations. Theyperform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) according to establishedprotocols and works closely under the direction of the Radiologistand other physicians.
Essential Functions:
Knowledge in workflows, procedures, operation, and processes of theMRI imaging modalities. Applies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk topatient, self, and others. Confirms the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient andprocedural data. Selects proper MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters according toestablished protocols. Contributes to the training and education of new staff and assistsin oversight of MRI students. Provides direct patient care and instructions before, during, andafter procedure. Performs IV injections and administers magnetic contrast agentsspecific to procedure. Troubleshoots equipment during malfunction in absence of serviceengineer and reports malfunction to radiologymaintenance/supervisor.
Education:
Associate’s from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT) accredited institute (preferred)
Licensure/Certification:
Certification and Registration with American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRIRegistry (MR) (required, or must within one year of hire) Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferredupon hire, required prior to direct patient care)
Experience:
