- 7:00 AM
- 7:30 PM. 3x12s. Every 3rdweekend. The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtainingdiagnostic radiographic examination at a technical level notrequiring constant supervision and performs all of the essentialgeneric job functions as listed below. Essential Generic JobFunctions (List in order of importance):
- Produces diagnosticradiographic examinations by positioning patients, providingimmobilization devices, selection proper technical factors based onindividual patient needs. Select and operate equipment as requiredfor specific procedures.
- Restricts radiation beam through cone andcollimating devices to provide non-exposure of radiation tounaffected parts of the patient.
- Performs portable x-rayexaminations in patient rooms, operating rooms and emergency room
- Follows operational procedure to identify patient’s films withname and x-ray number, correctly mark film as to side of thepatient taken.
- Develops exposed x-ray film by processing methodsavailable.
- Completes patient requisitions with technologistinitials, date, number, and size of film.
- Maintains orderly x-rayroom as directed by the head of the department.
- Preparesradiopaque contrast media and assists physician in administeringradiopaque mixtures to patient.
- Performs administrative dutiesrelated to scheduling appointments, patient’s instruction, filmfiling, maintenance of records, reception of patients and otheradministrative duties as required.
- Renders services and/orassistance to all patients depending on the individual patient’sneeds and abilities in moving, turning, getting on and off thex-ray tables, etc.
- Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls aminimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifiesand delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age,culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). Thisprocess includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/orprimary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age,educational, literacy, etc.).
