Duties:

/t/nJob Function 1:

PREPARESEQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR SPECIFIC PROCEDURES

The CT technologistwill demonstrate professionalism and service excellence whenperforming the following tasks. Obtains necessary medical, surgicaland radiological supplies for specific procedures according toestablished protocols. Maintains sterility of field andinstruments. Correctly prepares requisitions. (professionalism andservice excellence)/n/nJob Function 2:

ENSURES PATIENTS PHYSICALAND PSYCHOLOGICAL COMFORT

Communicates(involves) to the patient andfamily before, during and after the procedure to alleviate anxietywhile maintaining privacy and dignity of the patient. Thetechnologist will adhere to all HIPPA regulations and respect thepatients privacy. Verifies patient identification according to theAHS policy. Observes patients condition before and after contrastinjections and reports any sudden change to the nursing staff andRadiologist. Ensures availability of medicals records, previousreports, labs and history of patient. Can begin emergency responsein case of complication./n/nJob Function 3:

MAINTAINS SPECIFICINVENTORY RECORDS AND ENSURES AREA IS STOCKED WITH ADEQUATESUPPLIES

Maintains adequate linen supplies in each scanning room.

Maintains adequate contrast media and biopsy/drainage supplies ineach scanning room. Adheres to room assignments (CT 1,2 and 3).Assists in maintaining CT storeroom, outside inventory.

Participates in daily inventory and stocking of supplies. NotifiesLead of expired or soon to expire equipment or medications. Cleansand inventories supplies. Participates in the routine cleaning ofthe CT gantry, table and peripheral equipment after eachuse./n/nJob Function 4:

COORDINATES SCHEDULE OF DAILY EXAMS

Thepoint staff will perform the following tasks while displayinginvolvement in patient care, professionalism and respect to otherstaff and patients: When assigned as Point, triages proceduresaccordingly to the daily schedule Ensures timely coordination ofall emergency and unscheduled procedure requests. Assigns staff toensure efficient workflow while maintaining an environment ofpatient safety. Maintains workflow w thin the section to coordinateemergent and unscheduled procedure requests within the schedule.

Communicates with all departments and floors with regards topatient status. Ensures immediate patient transport postprocedure./n/nJob Function 5:

PERFORMS ALL TASKS AS REQUIRED BYCOORDINATOR AND LEAD STAFF

Assists in performing routineprocedures. Assesses patient ability to tolerate contrast. Screensfor allergies/medication incompatibilities. Cleans CT Unit and roomafter each use. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of workingarea. Notifies Coordinator or Lead of equipment malfunctions.

Maintains QA/QC/n/nrequirements for daily, monthly & ACRspecifications. Recognizes unusual conditions in the operation ofequipment. Alerts appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions.

Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols./n/nJobFunction 6:

ADDITIONAL RESPOSIBILITIES.

When doing cases thatrequire immediate results such as Code Grey, Trauma and PartialTrauma the images will be acquired ,processed , sent andverified/completed in

PACS / RIS

system per establishedprotocol(Immediately after acquisition for Code Grey). The CTtechnologist will notify the radiologist as Code Grey images arebeing/n/nsent and follow with any processed data after. All staffshould notify the radiologist of ANY unusual finding to provide theoptimum care for the patient./n/n

Skills:
