Description:

The candidate willwork in a department with a total of 4 scanners, staffing 2 at atime. A mobile unit is available, and there will be a full-timesupervisor on each shift. Common imaging studies performed includemusculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvic imaging,radiation oncology, and breast imaging. The candidate willencounter pacemaker and anesthesia patients, as well as patients inICU and NICU. The average number of scans/studies performed per dayis around 30, due to long protocols. The department uses McKessonor Changed Health Care PACS for imaging data management. There is apotential for hiring Registered Radiology Assistants in the nearfuture. Radiologists are on-site during daytime hours and mainlycover interventional radiology. Candidates are required to startIVs. Shifts typically run from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday throughFriday. Weekend work will only be expected if hired specificallyfor a weekend shift. The department handles high volumes, with10-14 inpatients and 4-8 outpatients per day on weekends, typicallyperforming outpatient imaging without contrast. The dress coderequires black scrubs and a black or gray jacket, along with ablack or gray undershirt under the scrubs. There are 1-2 weeks ofdepartment-specific orientation provided. There is no call orstandby requirement, but candidates may volunteer if needed.
