Utilizes independentjudgment to provide CT services to patients while adhering to alldepartment and organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares and positions patients fordiagnostic imaging procedures
- Explains procedures and process topatients
- Moves imaging equipment into the specified position;determines exposure factors based on height, weight, the portion ofthe body involved, and the degree of penetration required; andadjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produceimages of proper detail, density, and accuracy
- Practicesradiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patientsand staff
- Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiologyprocedures
- Processes images and reviews them for properidentification and quality control
- Prepares images for reading bythe radiologist or requesting physician
- Performs routinemaintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs onradiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
- Routinelyprovides CT diagnostic services by operating imaging equipment andother equipment/devices as appropriate
- Follows establishedprotocols for each specific scan
- Demonstrates ability to operateCT equipment properly

RequiredQualifications:
- High School diploma/GED
- License or temporarypermit to practice Diagnostic Radiology in the state of New York
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- 2 years of experience in Radiology
- Ability to workindependently in CT environment

The hourlyrange for this role is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour.
