CompleteTechnologist Responsibilities:

Verifying patients’ identity andreviewing physicians orders before beginning x-ray procedures.

Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients’bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians written ordersExplaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering theirquestions. Positioning patients accordingly, which may includelifting and moving patients with limited mobility. Handles allradiologic equipment safely and properly keeping dose to patient aslow as possible. Observe each patient s status and interprets theappropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specificneeds. Produces a diagnostic, high quality image for interpretationby the Radiologist. Promptly notifying management of damaged ormalfunctioning x-ray equipment. Utilizes electronic patientinformation systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam,and any special exam specific comments from the provider.

Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.

Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifyingimages and assuring images are sent to the PACS systemcorrectly.

X-Ray Technologist Requirements:

Completion of formaltraining in an approved School of Radiologic Technology andmaintains Certification through the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT). NYS license (or able to obtain license priorto starting) 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience Comfortablein the OR and with some portables Ability to move or lift patients.

Ability to stand for extended periods. Excellent analytical andproblem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communicationskills. A patient and compassionate disposition. Team player whocan maintain a cohesive working environment.
