AM Duties:

• Interviews patient prior to MRI procedure forMRI safety prior to performance of the procedure.
• Ensures patientsafety, including correctly identifying every patient usingapproved two (2) patient identifiers at every point of contact inthe MRI suite.
• Explains the MRI process and instructs patient onthe procedure to obtain optimal imaging diagnostic results; answersall related questions and responds to patient’s needs or concerns,as required.
• Safely sets-up, operates, and adjusts, MRI equipment,selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate MRI studies;selects software options and imaging parameters, when adjusting anMRI machine; returns equipment to its original location after eachscan.
• Ensures safety for patients, operator and visitors withinmagnetic field zone four (4).
• Prepares patient for radiologicalprocedure by safely positioning patient for MRI scans, adjustingimmobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positionand adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; monitorspatient during scanning.
• Ensures that MRI rooms are clean,organized, and safe for MRI examinations; cleans MRI scanners aftereach patient use.
• Maintains proper-functioning imaging equipmentand performs image quality and calibration tests on equipment, asnecessary; reports any malfunction to appropriate staff.
• MaintainsImaging supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventorylevel and anticipating needed supplies.
• Evaluates images fortechnical quality and accuracy, ensuring proper identification ofall images is recorded, and presents completed images toRadiologist.
• Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) todocument patient encounters and access pertinent patient data andimaging results; keeps other detailed and accurate patient recordsand results.

Requirements:

• One (1) year of MRI experience,Relevant Equipment.
• Associate’s degree from a RadiologicTechnology program
• Valid license as a Radiologic Technologistissued by NYSDOH.
• Advanced-Level Certification from AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the AmericanRegistry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT
