Required:
ARRT, NYS

License. Must have CTand Rad Tech experienceComplete technical radiographic assignments.

Exercises complex skills, judgement and knowledge of the principlesand methods of Radiologic Technology. Performs diagnosticradiographic studies as requested. Operates portable diagnosticradiographic equipment where needed. Performs Infection Controlaccording to Universal Precautions. Radiologic Technologist shallhave the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, andgeriatric patients.

Job with accuracy:

Radiographic, CT, imageprocessors and other related equipment of similar scope andcomplexity across different modalities. Evaluates images forquality and demonstrates accuracy of positioning based on procedureguidelines. Provides clear and concise instructions duringprocedures to calm and relieve stress for patients. Maintainscompetency in two specific modalities. Ensures that properradiation protection is used for self, patient and other personnelby use of proper collimation, lead shielding and techniques whenapplicable. Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency call onweekdays, weekends and holidays in addition to routine hours.

Demonstrates competency in RIS and PACS. Utilizes system to enterand edit patient exams and charges. Records other appropriate data,scanning documents and making notes. Responsible for theperformance of radiographic and CT studies with and/or without IVcontrast enhancement, which includes, but not limited to, brain,thorax, abdomen, pelvis, spine, facial, extremities. Follows NYSDOHPart 16 guidelines. Performs required QC activities. Occupationalexposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.

Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids,tissues.
