A CTTechnologist, or CT Tech, is responsible for performing diagnosticimaging procedures using computed tomography equipment. They play akey role in patient care by producing high-quality images used byphysicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
KeyResponsibilities:
Prepare and position patients for CT scans,ensuring safety and comfort. Operate CT equipment to acquirehigh-resolution images. Administer contrast media under thedirection of a radiologist or physician. Monitor patients duringprocedures to ensure safety and proper imaging. Review and evaluateimages for clarity and diagnostic quality. Maintain accuratepatient records and ensure documentation meets regulatorystandards. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infectioncontrol procedures. Communicate effectively with patients,radiologists, and healthcare teams. Maintain equipment and reportany issues to ensure functionality and compliance. Stay updated onindustry best practices and continuing education requirements.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in RadiologicTechnology or a related field. Completion of an accreditedradiologic technology program. ARRT (American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography. AdvancedARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred orrequired by some employers. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
