Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to provide knowledgeable and compassionate patient care in our state-of-the-art medical facility located in Staten Island, NY USA. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians with interventional procedures, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for our patients. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures, including but not limited to angiography, embolization, biopsies, drainages, stent placements, and venous access procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Operate imaging equipment and assist physicians in obtaining diagnostic images.
- Administer contrast agents and other medications as required, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely information for patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documenting procedures, patient information, and other necessary data.
- Adhere to hospital policies and protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with research projects related to interventional radiology.
- Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and best practices in interventional radiology.
Requirements:
- Certified Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R)
- Peripheral and Neurovascular experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment, such as angiography machines and fluoroscopy units.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as radiographic positioning techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare software.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
