BLS AHAComplete Description:

We are lookingto fill an immediate need for adual modality CT/X-ray technologist to cover a37.5-hour weeklyschedule. The role includes three 9.5-hour shifts and one9-hourshift per week.

Coverage will include:

Two weekendshifts Twofloatingweekday shifts A mix of eveningand night hours, soflexibility is essential This positionwill provide support at boththe Easthampton Emergency Site and SouthamptonHospital.

CAT SCANTECHMaintain and exhibit behavior that promotespatient confidenceand trust. Capable of workingindependently/unsupervised.

Demonstrate proficiency in theperformance of Cat Scan Imaging Exams.

Demonstrate proficiency inthe use and application of pediatric immobilizationdevices adheringto safety precautions. Maintain and exhibit behavior thatpromotespatient confidence and trust. Must produce computerizedtomographicscanner Radiographs of designated anatomical areas asordered/directedaccording to established policies and procedures.

Must prepare or enter writtendocumentation as required by thedepartment such as informed patient consent,patient chartdocumentation, and other related duties. Must observe sterileandaseptic techniques when necessary. Check equipment, supplies andaccessories ona regular basis. Asses the physical needs of theadult and geriatric patients.

Demonstrate the ability to recognizeand ally patients’ fears and apprehensionsabout exams. Maintainorderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Completerequestedexaminations in a timely manner, observing radiationsafetystandards. Address the special needs of each age group servedand assist inmaking reasonable accommodations for the hearingimpaired, physicallychallenged or any other patients who may enterthe Hospital. Observe Bio-Safetyand Radiation safety rules andregulations. Responsibilities and duties may beadded, changed ordeleted at any time at the discretion of the AssistantDirector ofRadiology and Director of Radiology either verbally or inwriting.

Performs related duties in PACS. Responsible for knowingand adhering toestablished hospital/department policies andprocedures, including all aspectsof safety. Must complete requestedexaminations in a timely manner, observingradiation safetystandards. Must be computer literate. Must select andoperateequipment as directed. Must be aware and able to preventSentinel Events.

RADIOLOGY

TECHDemonstrate proficiency in theperformance ofall diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations andequipment. Demonstrateproficiency in the use and application ofpediatric immobilization devices adheringto safety precautions.

Must prepare or enter written documentation as requiredby theDepartment, such as informed patient consent, patientchartdocumentation, and other related duties. Perform portable andoperating roomexaminations in a timely and professional manner,must observe sterile andaseptic techniques when necessary. Checkequipment, supplies and accessories ona regular basis. Assess thephysical needs of the adult and geriatric patients.

Demonstrate theability to recognize and ally patients’ fears andapprehensionsabout exams. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness ofwork areas. Completerequested examinations in a timely manner,observing radiation safetystandards. Address the special needs ofeach age group served and assist inmaking reasonable accommodationsfor the hearing impaired, physicallychallenged or any otherpatients who may enter the Hospital. Observesbio-safety andradiation safety rules and regulations. Responsibilities anddutiesmay be added, changed or deleted at any time at the discretion oftheAssistant Director of Radiology or the Director of Radiology,either verballyor in writing. Performs related duties in PACS.Responsible for knowing andadhering to establishedhospital/department policies and procedures, includingall aspectsof safety. Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotespatientconfidence and trust. Capable of workingindependently/unsupervised. High School Graduate orEquivalentrequired. Graduate of a program inRadiologic Technology NYSDOHLicense Required ARRT Required.
