The X-RayTechnologist I is responsible for performing the primary diagnosticexamination to either diagnose or decide the optimal procedure thatwill best help the patient. This also includes creating a tranquilenvironment, so patients will be able to adhere to examinationinstructions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify anatomicalorientation on all required images and assures proper fileidentification on all images
  • Demonstrate competency performingall radiographic procedures and the operation of all relatedequipment
  • Greet patients, obtain history, and enters informationin computer system
  • Perform x-rays at the optimal quality
  • Demonstrate patient care; make sure to protect patient as best aspossible from excessive radiation
  • Observe patient vital signsduring examination
  • Provide coverage as needed (i.e. in the eventof call outs or extended patient schedules)
  • Provideinstruction/mentoring to new hires
  • Maintain CPR certification
  • Perform procedures in compliance with Standards of Care, facilityand regulatory requirements, and ARRT Standards of Ethics
  • Maintain quality standards as it relates to HIPPA regulations
  • Demonstrate a positive patient experience; share information withpatients, providing knowledge about the procedure; ensuring theyare aware of follow-up steps and requirements
  • Demonstrate apositive experience from the referring providers; providingexcellent quality
  • Consistently submit images of diagnosticquality without recommendation of additional image acquisition;performs quality assurance on images and equipment; demonstratescompetency in utilizing systems
  • Make decisions authoritativelyand wisely after adequately contemplating various available coursesof action
  • Contribute to efficient out-patient Operations,maximizing the productivity of assigned modality
  • Utilize steriletechniques preventing contamination
  • Review each examination fortechnical accuracy, presents completed examinations to radiologist,and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the careof patients following the procedure
  • Demonstrate teamwork;interacts in a positive manner with employees and contributes to acollaborative work environment
  • Meet or exceed deadlines, followsthrough, demonstrating accountability, flexibility and adaptability
  • Enhance professional growth and maintain certifications,registration and active CME’s through education programs,conferences, and workshops

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ARRT(American Registry of Radiologic Technologist)® certified
  • Demonstrated ability to adequately use, or learn to use, thedepartment’s computerized system and its associated devices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or Baccalaureatedegree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine
  • 1years of experience in as general radiologic technologist
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients, visitors, andemployees within the organization
Physical Demands:
  • Requiresstanding and walking for extended periods of time
  • Must be able tolift and carry items weighting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able tolift patients weighting up to 300 pounds and place them inappropriate positions for operation of equipment
  • Requireseyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and reviewdeveloped films

70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay isbased on several factors including but not limited to local labormarkets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
