A PET/CT

Technologist operates equipment thatcombines radiopharmaceutical imaging with CT technology to producedetailed images for diagnosing and monitoring various medicalconditions, including cancer and heart disease. They administerradiopharmaceuticals, ensure patient safety, and perform scanswhile adhering to strict protocols and safety guidelines.

PrimaryResponsibilities:
  • Performing PET/CT scans:
  • This involvesoperating the equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring properscanning parameters are set
  • Administering radiopharmaceuticals:
  • PET/CT scans use radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) to showmetabolic activity in the body, and technologists are responsiblefor their safe and accurate administration
  • Ensuring patientsafety:
  • This includes monitoring patients during the scan,administering contrast materials for CT imaging, and implementingradiation safety procedures
  • Image quality and analysis:
  • Technologists are responsible for capturing high-quality images,ensuring proper processing, and collaborating with radiologists tointerpret the results
  • Equipment maintenance:
  • This includescalibrating equipment, performing quality control tests, andtroubleshooting any technical issues
  • Following protocols andregulations:
  • Technologists must adhere to established protocols,safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to radiationsafety and patient care
  • Collaborating with other healthcareprofessionals:
  • Working with doctors, nurses, radiologists, andother staff members to provide comprehensive patient care You’ll berewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment thatwill challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes tosucceed in your role as well as provide development for other rolesyou may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
  • Completion ofan approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalenteducation
  • Certification by the Nuclear Medicine TechnologyCertification Board (NMTCB) or the ARRT (N), and state-specificlicensure
  • CT certified
Preferred Qualification:
  • Provenexcellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability towork independently and as part of a team are essential The hourlyrange for this role is $28.

61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-timeemployment.
