Experience:
2 years of neuro interventional experiencerequired for newly hired Special Procedures Technologists workingin Neuro Interventional Radiology. Existing employees mustdemonstrate competency to perform NIR procedures.
License:
NY StateDOH Licensure or Limited Permit required
Certifications:
- ARRTregistered (RT) and radiograph (R)
- ARRT Vascular Interventionalcertification within 1 year of hire highly preferred
- BLScertification through the American Heart Association required ormust be completed within 90 days of hire

Job Description:
- Perform special procedures, interventional imaging, and patientpreparation for procedures
- Assist radiologists as needed andprepare, operate, and care for equipment in use
- Adhere toestablished standards of care and customer service programs
- Pursue appropriate continuing education and assume responsibilityfor assigned areas and duties
- Prepare and position patientscorrectly for specific examinations, observing different andspecial requirements for each protocol
- Review completed scans forquality and completeness per the type of test ordered
- Participatein on-call rotation and respond to emergency procedures orsituations in the department
- Maintain the cleanliness of allareas, equipment, and accessories
- Report malfunctioning equipmentto the Supervisor/Manager
- Perform routine office duties, such asanswering phones, checking previous reports/films, and utilizingEMR and PACS systems
- Notify front desk staff upon examcompletion
- May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor
- Educate each patient or family member regarding the orderedexamination
- Attend staff meetings and in-services
- Providepatient care based on age, physical, and psychosocial stature ofpatient populations, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, andgeriatric groups
- Perform all other related duties asassigned.
