Experience:

2 years of neuro interventional experiencerequired for newly hired Special Procedures Technologists workingin Neuro Interventional Radiology. Existing employees mustdemonstrate competency to perform NIR procedures.

License:

NY StateDOH Licensure or Limited Permit required

Certifications:
  • ARRTregistered (RT) and radiograph (R)
  • ARRT Vascular Interventionalcertification within 1 year of hire highly preferred
  • BLScertification through the American Heart Association required ormust be completed within 90 days of hire

Job Description:
  • Perform special procedures, interventional imaging, and patientpreparation for procedures
  • Assist radiologists as needed andprepare, operate, and care for equipment in use
  • Adhere toestablished standards of care and customer service programs
  • Pursue appropriate continuing education and assume responsibilityfor assigned areas and duties
  • Prepare and position patientscorrectly for specific examinations, observing different andspecial requirements for each protocol
  • Review completed scans forquality and completeness per the type of test ordered
  • Participatein on-call rotation and respond to emergency procedures orsituations in the department
  • Maintain the cleanliness of allareas, equipment, and accessories
  • Report malfunctioning equipmentto the Supervisor/Manager
  • Perform routine office duties, such asanswering phones, checking previous reports/films, and utilizingEMR and PACS systems
  • Notify front desk staff upon examcompletion
  • May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor
  • Educate each patient or family member regarding the orderedexamination
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services
  • Providepatient care based on age, physical, and psychosocial stature ofpatient populations, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, andgeriatric groups
  • Perform all other related duties asassigned.
