Thurs and Friday 10a-8p and Sun 8a-4p
Description:
Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Preparespatient for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares,operates, and cares for the equipment being used. Adheres toestablished standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuingeducation. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties.
Adheres to established customer service programs. Performs otherduties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Exercisesprofessional judgments in performance of procedures. Providespatient care.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include theand adheres to the client Performance Standards, Policies, andBehaviors.
Prepares and positions patients correctly for specificexaminations, observing different and special requirements for eachprotocol including proper documentation on images and required bodypart questionnaires.
Assumes responsibilities for designated areasand/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewingcompleted scans for quality, and completeness for the type of testordered.
Assists physicians during procedures as necessary.
Performsquality assurance and calibrations as needed.
Will be required towork in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise inthe practice.
Maintains the cleanliness of all areas, equipment, andaccessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the practicesupervisor.
Prints patient CD if needed.
Performs routine officetasks, such as answering phones, checking in patients, obtainingprevious reports/films, or other related duties as needed.
Notifiesfront desk staff upon exam completion.
Shows radiologist images andcalls report to attending physician and documents communication ifnecessary (STAT readings).May be assigned as instructor orpreceptor.
Introduces themselves and educates each patient or familymember regarding the examination that is ordered.
Should beknowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age,physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations;pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.
Attends staffmeetings and in-services.
Coverage rotation to other outpatientoffsite.
Duties and hours may change according to the needs of theoffsite practices.
May be required to work holidays, overtime,and/or day, evening, and overnight shift coverage to help maintainadequate and safe coverage for the outpatient facility.
Performs allother related duties as assigned.
Position is eligible forcertification incentive.
Education & Experience graduate from anaccredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
Technologist must be certified by the American Registry ofRadiological Technologists (ARRT), ARMRIT, or become ARRT MRcertified within one year of the hire date.
Continuing educationrequirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth bygoverning bodies. Current standards are 24 ECE credits over atwo-year period depending on the year of birth.
BLS certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or must becompleted within 90 days of hire.
IV certification is preferred orby completion of six months of orientation.
MRI safety certificationlevel 2 is required yearly.
