GENERAL OVERVIEW
This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides supervision of staff and area functions as well as serve as a physician liaison.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately for independent diagnostic radiographic imaging per established protocols. Prepares for and assists physician while performing procedures. Prepares contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice. (45%) Acts as a mentor for new staff and uses technical expertise to improve staff performance. Assists in management of human resources (performance management), staff/equipment schedule, payroll, and non-labor expenses and activities for the department. Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies. Implements and educates staff on all imaging institute policies, procedures, guidelines, and quality initiatives for the radiologymodality. (30%) Assures completion of all required documentation for quality control and equipment maintenance, procedures, e.g. regulatory, billing, protocol and image distribution. Maintains ACR certification and registries (if applicable). (15%) Implements radiation safety and patient safety standards, and provides technical expertise for development of protocols. Implements and standardizes imaging protocols in coordination with radiation physics and division directors. (10%) Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification 3 years’ experience as a Registered Technologist CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred Bachelor’s degree Previous leadership experience
