Certification Details BLS State Radiologic Technologist Licensure Job Details Following established protocol and under the medicalsupervision of certified radiologists, CT technologists willproduce computerized tomography scanner radiographs of designatedanatomical areas as ordered/directed by the physician in order tointerpret and diagnose patient disease or injury. Technologists will assist the radiologists on procedures asneeded and be responsible for supervision of student RadiologicTechnologists assigned to them. Encourages and maintains good customer relations. Responsible for the care and safety of patients during imagingprocedures utilizing age appropriate care. Efficient use of time to accomplish patient care assignmentswhile meeting work quality, quantity and timelinessexpectations. Assists in the clinical education of studenttechnologists. Efficient utilization of imaging equipment with attention tominimizing repeat examinations. Instructs and prepares patients regarding imaging proceduresand assists in obtaining informed consent as needed. Ensures correct orders, diagnosis and clinical history areentered into computer system. Communicates with Radiologist regarding procedure and iseffective in communications in both verbal and in writtensituations and presents a positive and professional demeanor. Adheres to hospital, departmental and safety policies andprocedures. Practices good radiation protection and follows establishedguidelines for DHEC and TJC and other governing organizations. Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARAprinciples. Completes annual mandatory in-services and maintains currentlicensure requirements; submits copies of professional license asrequested. Supports and promotes department efforts in meeting establishedprojects and goals and/or specific individual goals. Holds medical and sensitive information in confidence. Performs other job duties and responsibilities as required Job Requirements One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have demonstrated ability to perform and teach CT exams toproduce satisfactory diagnostic images for interpretation. Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA and TJC standards andregulations. Responsible for safe operation of CT and post processingequipment. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
