nA Radiology Technologist (also known as a RadiologicTechnologist) performs diagnostic imaging procedures using X-rayequipment to produce images of the internal structures of the body.
These images assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring variousmedical conditions such as fractures, injuries, infections, andabnormalities. Radiology Technologists work closely withradiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurateimaging and patient care.nn
Key Responsibilities:
n n Operate X-ray equipment and other imaging devices to producehigh-quality diagnostic images of bones, tissues, andorgans.n Position patients correctly and explain imaging procedures toensure patient comfort and safety.n Ensure proper safety protocols related to radiation exposure,including shielding and protective measures for both patients andstaff.n Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcareprofessionals to review and interpret X-ray images to assist indiagnosis and treatment planning.n Maintain detailed patient records, including imaging data andprocedures, for physician review.n Assist with other diagnostic imaging procedures, such asfluoroscopy, mammography, or computed tomography (CT), asrequired.n Ensure the cleanliness, calibration, and proper maintenance ofimaging equipment.n Educate patients on imaging procedures and address any concernsrelated to the process.n Stay current with advancements in imaging technology, radiationsafety standards, and continuing education.nnn

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in RadiologicTechnology.n
Certification:
n n Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or RegisteredRadiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.n Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.nnn
