- A Brief Overview
- Radiologic Technologist perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision.
Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.
- What you will do
- + Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
+ Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure. + Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation. + Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required. + Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician’s order. + Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations. + Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination. + Completion of exam in hospital information system. + Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment. + May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.

- + Associate’s Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program Required
- Experience Qualifications
- + Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience Preferred
- Skills and Abilities
- + Understand and utilize ALARA concepts and critical thinking + Time management + Effective communication.
- Licenses and Certifications
- + Radiography
- American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required + Radiography
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required + Basic Life Support Certified
- American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two year Required
- PAT Rating
