Position Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist (RT) will perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic equipment and making radiographs of designated portions of the body.

Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiology Technology required. Experience Minimum of two years’ experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy and radiographic exposure required.
Proficiency in radiation protection practices required. Licensure/Certification/Registration Registered as a Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) required.
Certification with the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Greet all patients and their apanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
Responsible for operating x-ray equipment and adjusting equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques.
Explain x-ray procedures to patients.
Position patients for each anatomical view.
Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
Accurately process images for optimal quality and match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
Demonstrate acceptable film quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and collimation.
Rotate through the on-call schedule with the other technologists andplete.
Effectively utilize stronganizational skills.
Consistently display effective verbalmunication skills. Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
Exercise independent judgement in emergency situations.
