JOB SUMMARY
Performs computed tomography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performance of these duties and procedures requires independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Must possess the necessary skills to perform procedures for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or experience: Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic training. Must meet requirements for registry by AART. Minimum of one year as an RT. Has gained a minimum of three months additional experience in CT imaging techniques. Extensive CT experience including spiral scanning is desired. Must be eligible for CT Certification by ARRT. Skills:
Start IV’s on contrasted exams. Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills. Demonstrates self-direction in improving and acquiring the skills and abilities necessary to enhance job performance.
Abilities:
Must use
RIS/PACS
to archive patient data and images. Expected to have excellent manners and must represent facility in such a way that patients feel well cared for and would return to facility in future. Expected to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette, and strong attention to detail. Comfortable learning and working with new computer systems. Be able to meet or exceed patient satisfaction at all times. Must be able to work independently following physician protocols. Must be able to interact with patients and staff in a courteous, professional manner.
