Description Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Breast Center Manager and/or radiologist(s), performs a variety of procedures.
Education:
Required:
A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program.
Reference:

Preferred:
Diagnostic Ultrasound education or the equivalent in breast ultrasound experience
Experience:
Required:
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience Basic computer experience required (1-2 years work experience or college level classes)

License/Certification/Registration Required:
ARRT certified and registered (compliant with all continuing education mandates) ARRT(M) certified and registered (compliant with all continuing education mandates) BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

ARDMS Department Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Breast Center Manager and/or radiologist(s), performs a variety of procedures. This job requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of mammogram and ultrasound equipment to create high quality diagnostic images. This job also requires performance of invasive procedures using sterile technique. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Breast Center. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s policies and procedures.
