POSITION SUMMARY

To provide high quality imaging procedures to ourpatients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner whileproviding those services in a safe and clean environment.

POSITIONREQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training Graduate of an approvedSchool of Radiologic Technology and subsequent Accreditationthrough The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must bein compliance with CE Requirements. BLS is required within 90 daysof hire. Workplace Experience Preference of one year workexperience in hospital after graduation and accreditation; however,willing to train. Equipment and Skills Training Possesses generalknowledge of many types of x-ray equipment and computers. Willtrain on specific equipment and processes utilized at WilliamsonHealth.

In addition, has had previous training in fluoroscopy,surgery, and routine studies and willing to perform those functionsdaily. Physical Environment Radiation safety and universalprecautions practiced in a multi modality imaging department.

Physical Effort Possesses the ability to perform multifunctionaltasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment,assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchersto table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly,both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisionsin urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotionalstability and psychological health in day to day interaction withfellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Checks patient identification and physicianorder to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study.

Questions female patients (ages 12-50) regarding the possibility ofpregnancy and properly documents information in record. Questionsall patients who receive intravenous contrast media and documentsinformation regarding allergies and medical history. Providesproper radiation safety protection for all persons, to includeself. Follows

ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGE WISELY.

Strives tomaintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring the patient isproperly covered at all times; during exam and patient transport.

Seeks opportunities to assist in other areas during downtimeperiods and always makes good use of time. Checks often on patientswaiting in hallways to ensure that the patient is covered andcomfortable (Pain Management). Shows leadership and teamwork indifficult situations and makes appropriate decisions. Volunteersfor overtime and fill-in when needed. Ensures the safety ofpatients by following all safety procedures while moving patientsfrom wheelchair or stretcher to table and observing patient whileon radiology table. Performs high quality studies consistently.

Works well with fellow employees to provide the most efficient useof the equipment and ensures that all requests from physicians andpatients are completed.
