Full Job Description Overview:

Full time 40 hours/week | Mon – Fri variable hours Responsible for oversight of program planning, design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine’s community arts programs and initiatives. Supports the recruitment, training, mentorship, and evaluation of artists and community arts facilitators. Works closely with Program Manager and Director to engage partners in design, implementation, and evaluation of community arts programming. Engages cross-sector partners to identify program needs, desires, and innovations to inform guided by program evaluation. Identifies evidence-based, community-engaged arts practices and programs, makes recommendations for community-engaged arts programming created directly with community members and in response to strengths and resources identified by community partners and the UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine team of artists and administrative staff. Maintains accountability for the implementation, evaluation, and revision of systems and structures that support the coordination and continuity of AIM’s community-engaged initiatives and programs. Leads evaluation and research initiatives toward evidence-based practice and to evaluate effectiveness of community arts practice and programming. Provides administrative oversight for community arts initiatives and partnerships in an effort to achieve the organization’s mission of humanizing healthcare experiences through artistic excellence. Performs responsibilities adjacent to Arts in Medicine Nurse Coordinator. Develops and implements a strategy to guide the complete coordination of community arts activities and partnerships. Functions independently in the planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating of all community-engaged arts activities including evaluating program activities to set goals and develop future program and partnership strategies. Participates in grant writing and fundraising. May have supervisory responsibilities. Effective problem solving and communication skills. Ability to multi-task working as part of a team or independently.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and three years of paid professional in arts program planning and/or community engagement; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess interpersonal and interprofessional skills, excellent communication, and a track record of oversight of effective programs and cultivating healthy partnerships. Skilled in the use of personal computers and software applications. Will be required to complete Arts in Health Intensive training program within one year of hire. Proficiency in grant writing and in one or more art form/s preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in arts in health or related discipline Expertise in arts in health programming, community engagement, and partnership building. o Knowledge and experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community-engaged arts programming o Knowledge and experience in developing and sustaining community partnerships o Experience in building and managing Arts in Health or community arts programs. Teaching experience (college, community arts, and teaching artistry experience are all relevant)

  • Production and/or artist management experience.
  • Experience advancing access, equity, and inclusion in the arts.
  • Experience tracking and managing budgets and expenditures.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in grant writing and fundraising Knowledge and/or experience in program evaluation and research interest in arts-based, participatory and community engaged methods Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meetings, and communications platforms with an aptitude to learn the latest software.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.
