Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Recreational Therapist, you will assist in the planning, organizing and implementing a comprehensive program of life skills development and therapeutic recreation under the supervision of the Program Director. This involves cooperation with overall activity programs and the individual unit programs. You will complete other duties as assigned.
What you will do in this role:
- Performs and documents procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assesses each patient’s level of functioning to include: comprehension, performance capabilities, interactive, and ADL skills, as well as receptiveness to treatment.
- Knowledge of all therapy programs under the OT/RT umbrella, evaluates, formulates, and reviews treatment plans.
- Functions as a multidisciplinary team member, participating in team meetings, giving input in treatment planning for each patient.
What Qualifications You will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) Certification Other-Finger Required
