The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for individuals, particularly those in nursing homes and memory care settings. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents, including those with dementia and other cognitive impairments. Plan and organize events that encourage participation from residents, families, and staff. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans and therapeutic goals. Facilitate recreational therapy sessions that promote physical, emotional, and social health. Communicate effectively with residents to understand their preferences and encourage their involvement in activities. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the program. Train and supervise volunteers or staff assisting with activities to ensure a supportive environment for all participants. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or nursing home settings is preferred. Strong event planning skills with the ability to create engaging programs for diverse populations. Knowledge of recreational therapy principles is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Compassionate approach towards individuals with dementia or memory care needs. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident needs and preferences.
