We are seeking a dynamic Director of Recreation to lead engaging programs that promote social, physical, and emotional well-being for our residents at Spring Hills. Role:

As the Director of Recreation, you will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of enriching activities, managing all community’s recreation programs, and leading a dedicated recreation team. You will work closely with residents, staff, and departments to create a vibrant, active, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and coordinate social, fitness, wellness, and educational programs tailored to residents’ interests and needs Foster resident participation and engagement in activities Oversee the all recreation programs emphasizing dementia-friendly activities Recruit, train, and supervise recreational staff and volunteers Manage department budget, documentation, and supplies Organize outings, transportation, and special events Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated programming Coordinate family education sessions, support groups, and community outreach initiatives

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in recreation, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience Prior experience in activity planning and staff supervision, preferably in senior living or related settings Must be able to operate a bus and safely transport residents Knowledge of dementia care and specialized programming Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
